I’ve been stone cold for a long time

Just going through my motions

My ikigai relenting,

You. You stood there today

I saw the sweat on your brows

Eyebrows etched with passion and pain

You meant what you were saying

I know, because those words, your words were, fiery darts

Landing square in my chest, setting warmth to my consciousness

I’ve been dead for so long

And I want to thank you.

thank you, for this fresh wind,

like cool water on this parched soul

like fresh fire to my dead coal

But you’ll say you’re just doing your job

and This is why I exist

Fan the flames

Until the blaze that consumes my being

And spreads.
